THE ONE AND ONLY WAWEL
As part of the ongoing exhibition “All These Paradises, Comets and Polonia”, together with the Lower Silesian Film Center, we invite everyone on Saturday, May 31st for a joint trip to the Wawel cinema in Lubań.
Its history dates back to 1936, when an impressive modernist building was built, originally functioning as the Capitol cinema. Its building, as one of the few buildings in the city, survived the turmoil of war. It did not gain the name “Wawel” until the 1950s. The cinema has been operating continuously for almost a hundred years. We will be welcomed there by its long-time host Ryszard Dziubka.
What is on the itinerary of the trip? A tour of the cinema, a film screening and a meeting with the creators of the exhibition and the authors of the soon-to-be-released book about small cinemas in Lower Silesia, Lech Moliński and Jerzy Wypych. As part of the trip, we will eat a meal prepared by the Rural Women’s Association from Złotniki Lubańskie. We will eat lunch in the picturesque setting of the grassy market square in the village of Złotniki Lubańskie.
To join us, you must read the Tour Regulations, submit a completed Application Form and pay the entry fee by May 23. The number of places is limited.
