LIMITED PRESENCE
Undeniably, the reality surrounding us has a huge impact on our lives, way of thinking, behavior and perception of the world. The pandemic, wars, climate change, the crisis of civilization are reflected in art, which means that our titular “limited presence” must be treated more thoroughly. As a society, we are becoming more and more cautious and isolated from the world around us. We become isolated, discreet and passive. These behaviors force us to ask ourselves: what does this “limited presence” mean to us, do we notice it, what impact does it have on our surroundings, can we adapt to it and do we feel safe with it? The Artistic Council of the Lower Silesian District of ZPAF, together with the curator, accepted 68 artists presenting 160 works, constituting a subtle cross-section of our artistic society, to participate in our exhibition.
