PLACE OF MODERNISM
An alternative tour combining older and newer layers of Wrocław architecture with an exhibition of Sinta Werner’s photographs. Twentieth-century modernisms, noted on paper and inscribed in photo sculptures, will be the starting point for discussions about architectural yesterday and today and for a physical encounter with the original structure of the former House of Trzebnica Maids. On Saturday afternoon, together with Agata Gabiś, you will have the opportunity to see how a place once created for living, currently occupied by visual art, works. We invite you on Staurday March 8 at 1 pm for a walk through decades, views and chiaroscuro!
Agata Gabiś – a Wrocław resident, art and architecture historian, assistant professor at the Department of the History of Material Culture at the Institute of History of the University of Wrocław. She deals with the history of 20th-century architecture, with particular emphasis on Polish post-war architecture (including industrial architecture) and its artistic, political and social aspects. Author of the book “The Whole Sea of Building. Wrocław Architecture 1956-1970”.
Accompanying event of Sinta Werner’s exhibition “Layers”. Free admission.
